2 KILLER eBOOK MARKETING TACTICS!
By: Larry Dotson
1) SELLING CREATES TRAFFIC
You probably know that by including your ad in a
free ebook, then allowing others to give it away is
a great way to spread your ad all over the internet.
That worked good in the old days because hardly
anyone knew about it, but now there are free
ebooks almost everywhere. Because of this your
free ebook ad has to be extremely persuasive and
you must present it so people perceive it as valuable.
I have a solution for this free ebook problem.
Write an entire ad for the ebook, as if you're selling
it, and actually set up an ordering option for your
free ebook. You just give your prospects the option
of getting it at no cost if they refer three of their
friends, family members or associates to your web
site. Another option would be to ask them to place
your banner ad on their home page.
It's very persuasive because they'll get a product
you're selling for free, what a bargain! You could
always sell it for an extra high price to increase it's
perceived value. So you'll either make a huge profit
or get a link on their home page.
2) CONCENTRATE ON THE TOP
Create an ebook full of tips relating to the theme of
your web site. Type keywords into search engines
that your web site would fall under. Contact the top
twenty related web sites and ask them if they would
like a tip ebook they can give away with their own
ad place inside it. Just include your own ad inside it.
The web sites that agree to the deal will give you a
lot of traffic. You can either put your promotional
ad inside the ebook or have them link to your web
page to give it away. Of course, on that particular
web page would be your product ad. It's a win/win
situation.

So you Wrote an E-book...Now What?
By: Merle
E-books are one hot marketing tool. For those of you who don't get out much, an e-book is basically a collection of HTML documents that have been compiled into an executable (.exe) file. The concept is that of an electronic book that can be downloaded, read page by page, and passed around easily online.
Some e-books are sold where as others are given away freely. Those who download free e-books are encouraged to give them away to their friends or business associates. The "give away" part is what makes e-books such a powerful marketing tool. Also known as viral marketing, when done right your book can be passed around to thousands of people all over the world.
For this reason it is my opinion that e-books work best when there is no charge involved. Think about it: Who doesn't like getting something for free? So if you've been thinking of jumping on the "e-book bandwagon" my advice is to give it away and let it do what it does best: Generate traffic to your website.
Once your book is written, it has to get out into the mainstream of the Internet. You need to heavily market and promote the book yourself to get the ball rolling so it can do its magic. This is where a lot of folks get stumped.
I have written two e-books myself, so I've done a lot of research and have found out what works and what doesn't. If you have included any other websites in the book, your first step is to contact their owners and let them know about it. Also, tell them it would be great if they offer the book from their site or mention it in their newsletter. Most will be happy to comply; since their names are in the book, they benefit from promoting it as well.
If you have sold banner ads in the e-book (which is a great idea), make sure you supply your advertisers with text link ads and/or graphics they can use to help get the word out. Your job is to make it as easy as possible for them "to pass the word." This is viral marketing at its finest.
Your next step should be to add a page on your site where visitors can download the book. If you have any graphic skills at all, whip up a book cover to add along with a description that stresses the benefits they'll receive from reading it. If the book's content is good (and it should for all of this to work right!), you will soon receive feedback in the form of compliments. Make sure you put them on this page as well. Testimonials are very powerful.
If you publish an ezine you can use the book as a bonus for your subscribers.
There are many other ways to promote your new book. Contact ezine publishers that you think would be interested in your subject matter and send them an e-mail stating how nice it would be if they mentioned it to their readers. Most publishers are always looking for content and will be happy to help out.
Some websites do e-book reviews and then publish them online or in their newsletters. Here are a few to get you started:
ZD Net 4 Star Review
http://www.upload.com/public/default.htm
For reviews of e-books that relate to Net marketing send them to Lee Benson mailto:lee@c...
E-book Junction- Linda does reviews for her ezine send to mailto:linda@a...
There are also sites on the Net that house e-books of all types and function as e-book libraries. Your book can be submitted to any of the following;
E-book Net
http://www.ebooknet.com/
Carver's E-book Library http://carver.bizland.com/submit.htm
Success Library
http://allaboutsuccess.com/successlibrary.htm
EbooksNBytes
http://www.ebooksnbytes.com/submit_ebook.html
Ebook Palace
http://www.ebookpalace.com/newlink.shtml
Stealth Promotions
http://www.stealthpromotions.com/e-library.htm
The E-book Directory
http://www.ebookdirectory.com/addebook.html
If you do a search on the major search engines you're sure to find many more e-book libraries you can submit to.
E-book discussion lists are two way communication where you can announce your book once you subscribe. Some are;
E-book Chat
mailto:anebookchat-subscribe@onelist.com
E-book News
mailto:ebook-news-subscribe@onelist.com
E-book Talk
mailto:ebook_talk-subscribe@onelist.com
Another tip is to visit any of the websites that house free software and submit your book to them. Most include e-books, since they are .exe files. Do a search and you'll find these sites by the thousands. There is free software that can submit your e-book to 50 sites in one shot: Go to
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/program/ssubmit.htm and download "Soft Submit" which will upload your book to 50 sites at once.
Don't forget about including the download URL in your signature file. You are using one, right? I thought so. You could always write a press release about your e-book and e-mail it to the media. Discussion boards are another great outlet but don't post inappropriately. If you have the book in your sig file you could just post a comment or answer a question and your signature line will do the rest.
Use your imagination and you'll find hundreds of ways to utilize your e-book in your marketing campaign. After all, this is one viral infection you want everyone to catch!

Free E-Book Marketing: Destroying The Myths
By: Chayden A. Bates
Before you read this, understand right now: Free E-Book Marketing WORKS! It has been proven to be one of the *most powerful* forms of online marketing ever offered. But with the knowledge of its existence, and nothing but a notion of the idea, many who have attempted to utilize its power have failed. Why? The lack of understanding!
Free E-Book Marketing has been in use for over SIX YEARS. Successfully utilized by many "high-class" marketers. These few have been actively creating and promoting Free E-Books since the ability was provided.
Then, about the three-fourths of the way through 1999, the news broke of this powerful "new" marketing form and everyone and their brother were trying to "cash-in" on the opportunities they were hearing about.
Buying up the e-publishing software stock, many misunderstanding marketers began creating and compiling everything they could get their hands on.
Throwing these so called worth while Free E-Books into the world of the Web, they were actually doing more harm than good. Little did ( or do ) they realize the necessary steps that need to be taken in order to ensure their success ... that of quality, unique and beneficial content.
Let me ask you, "How many Free E-Books have you downloaded due to its sizzling title, only to find nothing but an over used report with a million and one banner ads flashing in your face?"
Too many to count?
There in lies the problem. How many "bad" Free E-Books does it take before you stop downloading Free E-Books all together? Do you know what that does, not only for the author of the Free E-Book, but other, successful Free E-Book Marketers?
Too say the least, its not good.
So what DOES make a good Free E-Book? What makes a Free E-Book successful in the sense that it does what it is meant to do? It's rather simple, and if you're at all interested in this "old" form of marketing, than here are the TWO MOST IMPORTANT aspects you need to realize:
ONE:
Your E-Book must be focused. It should only present a single offer to its readers. It should not stray or attempt to teach everything about anything. It should be centered around one solid idea: To present your ( business ) knowledge as to establish yourself as an expert in your field. To show and help the reader realize that you are a credible source of information.
After reading your Free E-Book, your reader should have a firm grasp of the concepts you present. They should be able to follow through and succeed with the resources you provide. This will help the passing of your Free E-Book as well as strengthen your chances for future dealings with its readers. ( This is what makes you money, not the banner ads. )
TWO:
Your E-Book must be educational. If you decide to utilize Free E-Book Marketing, than understand this: Your Free E-Book is to be created to generate leads. How do you generate leads? You educate your prospects about what you have to offer. You show them the hows, whats and whys of how your offer works and will work to benefit them to act upon.
You must teach the reader all that you successfully can about what the contents of your Free E-Book will do for them. Before they will hand you their money to enhance their lives, they need to know WHY what you're offering will work for them.
By demonstrating, thus educating through the use of your Free E-Book, your reader will naturally gravitate towards you for "further" information, where in you may charge for admission, thus making you your profits.
Free E-Book Marketing is simply a matter of understanding how the marketing and psychological strategies of it work. Understanding the above is *by far* the most important aspects of Free E-Book Marketing you need to realize.
If what I have just shown you is not followed, you will only work to hurt yourself. People want quality, informative content ... and you want their money. By giving them what they want, then suggesting they come to you for more, you will work to help each other.
Free E-Book Marketing WORKS! But ONLY if you use it right.

The Easiest, Money Making Business in the World!
By: Michael J. McGroarty
The business idea that I am about to share with you, almost seems too easy to actually work. Don't think that for a minute. This one idea is actually powerful enough to change your life forever. It sure has mine.
Basically, what you are going to be doing is selling an E-book. The E-book that you will be selling will cost you nothing and will sell for as little as $4.95 or as much as $99.95. That's the beauty of selling E-books. You only have to write or compile the book once, and you can sell it thousands of times, and the product itself does not cost you a dime. There are some costs in processing the order, but they are nominal, and we'll discuss them in a moment.
To put this strategy to work making you money, there are a few things that you must know. But don't let the things that I'm about to describe intimidate you. Read this list with an open mind. If you already know how to these things, then you are ahead of the game and ready to get started.
You will need:
A homemade booklet that was written by you, or for you. This booklet can be just a simple publication. It does not have to be a large publication. Sometimes just a few type pages can actually become a saleable product.
Writing a booklet like this is actually very easy. A booklet is nothing more than a series of articles, and you don't have to be a professional writer to write articles that people will find interesting. This type of writing is nothing more than writing just like you speak.
That's what I'm doing now as I write this article. I'm writing as if you and I are sitting at my kitchen table having a conversation.
You will also need your own domain name: Like www.troutfishing.com or www.breadmaking.com. Some search engine experts claim that the search engines will send you more traffic if you register the domain name as www.bread-making.com, with a hyphen. However, keep in mind that this is only advantageous if you are depending on all of your traffic to come from the search engines. If you are going to be doing any off line advertising, then this can really hurt you because people will forget about the hyphen, and they will not find your website.
You will also need a simple website.
This idea revolves around starting with a subject that you are knowledgeable about, or a subject that you would like to research. This does not have to be a complicated topic like brain surgery. It can be something very simple, as long as there are other people who would like to learn about the subject. Actually trout fishing might be a good topic. Bread making might work, but I'd look for something a little more powerful. I can show you how to find topics that people are hot for, but that's another article.
Fisherman and golfers are fanatics, and many products are already on the market that teach them how to do these things better. Don't let that scare you off. The fact that there are many products already being sold on a given subject, means that there is an intense interest. More than likely there is room for one more product as long as it provides fresh ideas and or new concepts. Or an old concept with a new twist.
Maybe you have a hobby that you are passionate about. If so, you can be assured that there are other people who share your passion, but may lack your knowledge of the hobby. If that's the case, they will be willing to pay money for a booklet that
will quickly teach them what they need to know about this hobby.
Put your thinking cap on and think long and hard about human nature. What is it that people want? Ever been to a little league game or a midget football game? These parents want their child to be the best! There is a market for products that help children achieve their goals. A booklet or video on pitching techniques or any other competitive sport that children participate in will sell really well!
They also want this information instantly! They sit down at the computer, type in whatever it is that they are looking for, and they want something to pop up on the screen instantly telling them what they want to know.
Does it really work that way? Yes and no. When people do a search, information does pop up on the screen, but is it what they are looking? Kinda, but not really.
This is where you come in.
You create a simple website on the subject of your E-book, and on that website you provide a significant amount of information that your target prospect finds very interesting.
You give them lots and lots of information, but you don't give them everything. Instead you tell them about your e-book that tells it all! Then you explain how they can buy it right now, and be reading it in minutes.
Does this really work? You better believe it does!
How many different topics will this work for?
Thousands.
As an example we'll use the keyword phrase "slot machines".
Every gambler, and there are tens of thousands of them, want to know how to beat the slot machines. If you read 10 books about winning at the slots, you would have enough knowledge to write a E-book of your own. Don't copy anybody else's work. Simply do the research, acquire the knowledge, and then write from what you have learned. If you copy word for word you are violating the copyright laws, and you will have trouble. On the other hand, if you thoroughly research a subject, and then write from the knowledge that you have absorbed, the information that you produce is original to you.
There are so many potential products that I could make this article 100,000 words long, but we don't have the room here. Anyway, you've got the idea.
The secret to making this work is to find a topic that is very narrow. As our example we'll use trout fishing. Once you have written your booklet about trout fishing, you will then create a website about trout fishing. The website will have many references to trout fishing, and a lot of information on the subject, but the absolute best trout catching techniques will not be revealed. In essence, the website will actually be a very well crafted, electronic sales letter.
You can create the website yourself, or you can hire an expert. Don't throw your money away. You can learn website design. I did, and I knew nothing about website design, and little about computers
If the topic you choose is narrow enough, and your booklet and web page are well done, you should attract a substantial number of visitors to your website, who are willing to buy your booklet. The secret is to have your page come up very near the top of the list when someone types "trout fishing" into a major search engine. There are no tricks you can use to do this, just creative thinking.
What most people don't realize is the number of times that the most mundane words or phrases are searched on a daily basis. If fact, the more mundane your key word, the better your chances, because there is much less competition for these mundane key words or phrases. I'll show you how to find out how often your keyword is being searched.
Once you have your website up and running and your booklet is selling really well, then you can let others sell it for you through an affiliate program. This is when the money really starts rolling in.
There are people on the net who are using this model to make a living on a full time basis. The topics that they have chosen to write about are certainly not earth shaking, and they would never sell in book stores. Yet on the internet, they do very well with them.
I myself sell tens of thousands of dollars worth of information products that are gardening related. I didn't really think my products would sell as well as they do, but I still took that calculated risk to at least test the water. You owe it to yourself to give it some serious thought. For years I sold a homemade booklet for $19.95, and it was only about 27 typed pages.
That booklet is now an E-book, and it is selling really for $39.99!
Here's something to think about. You only have to write the booklet once, yet you can sell it forever. People have been trout fishing since the days of the caveman, yet only a very tiny fraction of the people on the planet actually know how. 99.9% of the people that own fishing rods don't have any idea how to catch fish. I'm one of them, and I've been fishing for years. I just never catch much.
Find a topic that people have a sincere interest in, and you will have a winner. Stop by the message board at http://www.homemadebooklets.com and join in the discussion. It's a great place to pick up new ideas and lots of inspiration.
There is a E-book inside of you. Set it free!

Using Multiple Ebook Formats To Build Your Brand
By: Monique Harris
* Amazon.com's e-bookstore distributes titles that
can be read with the Microsoft Reader.
* BarnesAndNoble.com carries titles for the Microsoft
Reader, RCA REB 1100, and the Glassbook Reader.
* eBookCity utilizes their proprietary Versaware system.
* Booklocker's titles are mainly in Acrobat, with a few
HTML titles.
How can you use this to your advantage? By adapting your
ebook to each of these formats you stand a better chance
of influencing potential readers to purchase your title.
Remember, while a reader may not visit your site on a
regular basis, they will typically visit your colleagues,
competitors, or industry sites. Get your title featured
in all potential sales venues - no matter what format
the ebook is sold in - and you'll reach them more
frequently.
Cost to transform each book is minimal, because you only
have to convert a title to a specific format one time.
There are no physical distribution costs. And what you
reap in overall exposure, as well as additional sales
can be tremendous.

How To Create An E-book & Drive Massive Traffic To Your Site By Giving It Away...
By: Shelley Lowery
E-books or Electronic books are self-contained "executable" files of HTML. This HTML may be a web site you've created or HTML you've specifically prepared to be compiled into a downloadable .exe file for distribution. When downloaded, this file will self install on your clients desktop.
E-books are completely interactive with the Internet and can contain live links, graphics, forms, JavaScript, embedded video, can be protected via password/userid, search capabilities and more. This self-contained executable file can be distributed in a number of ways; CD, floppy disk, download, etc.
All e-book compilation software is not created equal. Make sure you review its capabilities before your purchase.
E-books can provide the Internet marketer one of the best promotional tools online. With its vast variety of uses, just one quality e-book development and distribution can produce an on going promotional tool that will work 24 hours a day, seven days a week and multiply itself by leaps and bounds. Your e-book can literally be viewed by millions simply by giving it away...
Suggested Uses:
- Marketing - Provide your sales network with your complete sales presentation to freely distribute with their ID to track sales.
- Promotion - Provide valuable information on a specific subject to bring traffic to your site.
- E-zine Archives - E-zine publishers can provide their publication archives to enable subscribers to read back issues on their desktop, visit your web site, subscribe, submit ads, etc.
- Catalogs - Provide a desktop catalog for you customers to view on their desktop. You can even provide a form to accept orders right through your e-book.
- How To Manuals - Provide your affiliates with a complete "how to" manual for marketing, advertising and promoting your products.
- Electronic Books - Writers can offer their books in an electronic version.
- Web Site - Create an electronic version of your web site to place on disk and be viewed on your clients desktop.
- Instructional - Provide an electronic training manual.
Creating an e-book is just like creating a web site. Simply create your HTML pages just like you would for your web site. Make sure you select a good software package that allows you to include hyperlinks, graphics, search, forms, etc. Keep in mind, the more professional, content rich your e-book, the more exposure it will receive.
There are several software packages available online to assist you in compiling your e-book. Prices range from $149 -- $189.
Hyper Maker HTML http://www.bersoft.com/ NeoBook http://www.neosoftware.com/ InfoCourier http://www.smartcode.com/ WebCompiler http://www.webcompiler.com/
For massive exposure, select a subject with a broad appeal. If your sites focus is on web site traffic, consider creating an e-book on generating traffic. I.E. "A complete "how to" guide to generating massive traffic to your site". Include several references to your site throughout your e-book such as; "For even more great traffic generating tips, visit "Traffic Tips" Your complete source for generating massive traffic to your web site. http://www.yoursite.com" or "Winning awards can dramatically increase traffic to your site. For a complete listing of award sites, visit "Traffic Tips Award Sites" http://www.yoursite.com/awardsites.
Tips for creating your e-book:
-Create a directory on your computer to include ALL the files for your E-book. These files will include HTML, graphics, backgrounds, etc.
-E-books should contain mainly text. Try to limit your banners to one per page. To keep your file size down, you may want to use only non-animated banners.
-E-books are generally formatted at a small screen resolution so make sure your pages are viewable through any screen size.
-Include good navigational links throughout your pages.
-Use spell check to search for any possible spelling errors.
For massive distribution, make sure you include a short paragraph on your main page in regard to your copyrights and distribution. I.E., This E-book may be freely distributed.
Sample Example of Distribution:
10 of your visitors download your e-book. Your 10 visitors each give away 10 e-books - 100 Those 100 each give away 10 e-books - 1000 Those 1000 each give away 10 e-books - 10,000 Those 10,000 each give away 10 e-books - 100,000 Those 100,000 each give away 10 e-books - 1,000,000
This is just a small example of how powerful your free e-book can be...

A Book Can Make You a Bundle!
By: Kathy Burns
In the past 6 months, a new form of Books has grown in popularity on the Internet: EBooks. An EBook is simply an Electronic Book distributed via download in Windows, Macintosh, or Palm Pilot file formats. With the widespread acceptance of EBooks, savvy marketers are finding that there is even more opportunity in this area than was first thought.
Creating your own EBooks is not time consuming or expensive but they must be well thought out before they are put on the market for sale or download.
First, decide what the purpose of your EBook is. 1. Will it be in an advetorial format? The editorial feel of this approach is beneficial for drawing more attention and traffic to a specific website, product or service.
2. Will it be a how-to manual that teaches the reader about something specific? This approach is flexible because you can give it away free as a traffic generator, or if it is comprehensive enough you can actually sell it as a product.
3. Will it be a full fledged book that you will sell? This is becoming more and more popular in the online publishing world because it is relatively quick to create and there is very little cost. We suggest that you also make a free advetorial to promote the full EBook if you go this route.
Once you have decided how your EBook fits into your business plans, you then must decide on the topic. The topic should always relate to your website content or business area of expertise. This will make your EBook more credible and will enhance the chances of generating site traffic or sales from those that read your EBook.
Almost any area of expertise can be utilized successfully in an EBook. If your area of expertise is Real Estate, your EBook could contain information on hidden finance secrets, or things to beware of when looking for a new home. If your website is about Japanese tourism, your EBook could contain the best and worst night clubs to visit while in Japan. The list of ideas can go on for pages, but you get the general idea. Write what you know and your EBook will be downloaded by people that want that information. This gives you a very targeted audience and increases your chances of selling products or services to them.
The next thing you must consider, is what format you would like to offer your EBook in. As with anything web based, the more audiences you can reach the better, so keep this in mind when creating your EBook. If you are able to offer it in multiple formats then by all means do so! Most EBooks are offered in Windows file format. Some are usable on Macintosh and some are made for the Palm Pilot handheld computer.
With each of these mediums, there also comes a wide range of software options. The most widely used of course is simple HTML. When using HTML for an EBook, you must still keep things such as screen resolution and browser version in mind. Some people prefer to use Adobe PDF files for their EBook distribution, however be aware that this file format is very difficult to read for long periods of time on a computer screen. PDF files are most appropriate for EBooks that you intend to have the reader actually print out and read on paper.
Palm Pilot Handheld computers also have a variety of software to choose from when it comes to reading an EBook. The good news however is that almost all of the software for that platform can read an EBook regardless of the software program it was created for. This makes the Palm Pilot EBooks much more versatile in addition to being portable.
Once your EBook is ready for distribution, then you must market it. Marketing an EBook online is similiar to marketing anything else. Put it up for download if it is free, give it away to your survey respondants or as a contest prize. Send it to your newsletter subscribers or post it in free EBook directories.
Continue creating EBooks! Once you have created your first EBook, be sure to create additional ones as you have the time. EBooks are getting very popular and should provide the perfect additional boost to your current online marketing efforts.

Three tips for Book Marketing Success
By: Wayne Perkins
Have you ever heard the expression, " the quickest way to reach your goals is to help others reach their goals?"
I remember this expression and use it as my Internet book-marketing plan. It has paid off with 3 best selling books for me in the past year.
How does it work in Internet Bookselling? Let me explain.
Websites generally have three characteristics that help them consistently remain in the top search engine standings:
1. Websites must add and change their content often. (Once or twice a day is perfect)
2. Websites must offer an e-zine or newsletter. The top websites offer newsletters and e-zines that are delivered via e-mail every day. 3. Websites will usually have their own bookstore with an affiliation or association with Amazon.com to allow visitors a method of purchasing books that complement the information on the website.
Top websites spend a great deal of time and money to remain at the top of the heap. Everyone wants to be there, but only a few can hold down those top positions.
Understanding these three characteristics have enabled me to achieve my goals by helping websites achieve their goals.
Step One: Search for the Big Guys on the Internet
I have two areas of expertise. I am a hypnotist who writes books and e-books on how to achieve success through hypnosis. I am also an E- book Marketing Consultant and write books on how to write and sell e- books.
In order to find top websites that may be interested in hypnosis, I search on broader topics like "health" and "mental health." For my books on E-book marketing I search on topics like "Internet marketing" and "E-commerce."
Even though there are hundreds of search engines and thousands of directories, I begin with searching on Yahoo. Yahoo is a directory that is difficult to get into and even more difficult to maintain a high ranking.
>From my own experience once I made the top of the heap in Yahoo, under "hypnotism" my web traffic more than doubled and stayed that way over the past three years.
Therefore, I conclude that the websites that arise to the top of Yahoo will be much more highly visited than through other search engines and directories.
Step Two: Help the Webmaster Offer More Content
Once I search under the two major categories that fit my topic, I send e-mail to the webmasters at those sites sending along my article or sample chapter.
I tell the webmasters I would appreciate posting my article for their readers in return for a short bi-line or description on what I do and a link over to Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com or my own website in return for the favor.
Most webmasters jump at the opportunity at receiving free content that allows them to maintain the high rankings on their websites.
Step Three: Help the Website Newsletter Editor
The top ranking websites also sponsor their own newsletter or e-zine. After contacting the webmaster about content added directly to the website, I then contact the newsletter editor in regards to placing an article or sample chapter in the newsletter.
Sometimes at the bottom of a sample newsletter there will be specific instructions on how to submit articles. Many times there is even a section on the website where you can post your articles directly to the editor.
After following the directions in the newsletter, I submit my article or sample chapter to the website newsletter editor.
I have just added more content to their website, again helping the website increase traffic and at the same time direct interested visitors to my book offerings located in the author's bi-line.
Step Four: Help the Website Bookstore Make Money
Most of the time, you will find that the top websites also have their own bookstore. Usually the Website bookstore will be an "associate of Amazon.com."
For example: You search on the keyword "health" on Yahoo and are taken to the top five health sites. Let's call the top website "health.com."
After navigating around the website you find a Health.com bookstore that offers many titles on a particular aspect of health you are interested in. When you click on a book cover on that website, you are immediately sent over to a book description page on Amazon.com.
If you look at the complete link that shows up in your browser you will see an URL (the Internet address) which looks something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1929695217/healthcom/104- 2910323-8772701
The two most important parts of the link are the ISBN number which is the number called "ASIN/" which is Amazon.com's identification number, and the words following the book's ISBN number which is "/healthcom."
"Healthcom" is the website's Amazon.com Associate identification number. This number allows the website to get paid for any sales that result by someone clicking on the link and then purchasing the featured book on Amazon.com.
The next thing you do is shave off the number off the end of the URL.
Now the URL will look like this:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1929695217/healthcom
If your own book title listed on Amazon.com has an ISBN number or ASIN number of 1585003557, what you do is insert that ISBN number in place of the website's featured book.
Now the URL will look like this:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1585003557/healthcom
That new URL is going to mean instant book sales for you.
Take your revised URL with your book ISBN and send a short message via e-mail again to the webmaster of the website.
Ask the webmaster to feature your book on the website. Mention that you are including the URL with the website's Amazon.com Associate identification number.
Within a few days you will begin to see a surge in your book sales as a result of this technique.
Summary:
By helping the webmaster add content, the newsletter editor offer new articles and the website bookstore earn more money from Amazon.com by adding your books, you are helping the website maintain a top ranking.
By helping the top websites achieve their goals you are driving qualified traffic to your own website or to Amazon.com to fulfill your goal of becoming a best selling author.
